Dawsongroup has stepped in to support much-loved local charity Camphill Milton Keynes after its only minibus was stolen, stripped for parts and later set alight — leaving residents without essential transport. When the charity was suddenly left without its only accessible vehicle, the local community quickly came together to help. Dawsongroup was among those offering support, providing a replacement vehicle free of charge for an initial three-week period, helping to bridge the gap while longer-term options are explored. Discussions are ongoing regarding potential future hire and continued support.
Camphill Milton Keynes is a long-established charity that provides supported living for young adults with a wide range of physical and learning disabilities. Today, the charity supports 83 residents across twelve communal houses, creating a safe and inclusive environment that includes a theatre, bakery, and arts and crafts workshops.

Short-Term Vehicle Hire Bridging a Critical Transport Gap
Reflecting on the impact of the incident, Lucy Davies, Head of Development at Camphill Milton Keynes, said:
“The vandalism of our minibus has left residents feeling violated. Routine is such an important part of their sense of stability, and when that’s taken away, it shakes their trust and comfort. We’re doing our best to reassure them while finding a solution.”
“Camphill Milton Keynes does incredible work supporting its residents, helping them live fulfilling, independent lives,” said Delroy Hudson, Accessible Vehicle Business Development Manager, Dawsongroup bus and coach. “When we heard what had happened, we knew we had to help. It’s a wonderful local charity and we’re proud to be able to offer practical support while they work towards a more permanent solution.”
