Here at Dawsongroup, we’re proud of all our employees and their incredible work, both in and out of the office. We would like to take a moment to shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals that make up Dawsongroup and today, we are celebrating the successes of Jade Large, Fleet Manager for Dawsongroup bus and coach.

Jade became a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) with the encouragement of Paul Sainthouse, Managing Director for Dawsongroup bus and coach, who believed it would support her professional development. Through this membership, Jade was introduced to Clare Bottle, the founder of Women in Logistics and Transport, who inspired Jade to join the committee, who meet monthly to discuss future events and organise outreach.

What is the CILT?

The CILT is a chartered body for professionals in the goods and people-moving industries, it is committed to supporting career development, creating networking opportunities, and providing professional recognition for its members.

Members can benefit from the many events, conferences, and webinars hosted throughout the year. Their Awarding Organisation offers specialist, vocational qualifications for the industry, including the Transport Manager CPC, which Jade obtained in 2021.

What is Women in Logistics and Transport?

Women in Logistics and Transport, a part of the CILT, is committed to improving the experience of women across the industry. They address the industry’s gender imbalance and enable the sector to benefit from female talent. Women in Logistics is committed to engaging, connecting, and inspiring the profession and, from their humble beginnings, has grown into a supportive community of nearly 4,000 members.

The committee brings together a like-minded, supportive network of passionate professionals. In addition to their annual conference, Women in Logistics arranges other events, including warehouse visits and netwalking, creating an environment for personal and professional growth. Beyond providing opportunities to connect, Women in Logistics is a space for women to engage, inspiring members to transform the industry and nurture talent within the sector.

Interested in joining?

Both the CILT and Women in Logistics offer a space for industry professionals to evolve and, since joining the CILT and Women in Logistics, Jade has been able to network and cultivate her career and has even been named in The Focus Magazine’s 35 under 35.

“I’m really proud to be a part of Women in Logistics and to be featured in The Focus Magazine,” said Jade. “I hope that it will encourage more young people and women to join the sector.”
